Captain Don's Habitat

We had a fantastic week of diving and staying at Capt Don's. The whole experience was World Class. At check in, Brandon was friendly and provided excellent customer service. He was patient and answered all our questions. The Dive Shop is also excellent. Neeto, Marco, and Christine took good care of us on the boats and underwater. They provided a safe and fun diving experience over 6 days of diving. Marco showed us Sea Horses, Turtles, and we even to experience a big Bait Ball on one of our dives. The resort and dive shop are excellent. We look forward to our return visit.

Excellent service! Brandon was extremely helpful and kind answered all our questions, and gave us great recommendations. The dive shop was great, we got great deals and recommend doing their boat dives. Marco was an amazing guide and we discovered many sea animals. I was able to see 3 seahorses and one huge school of fish!

We've been back three times and there is a reason. Even the far back rooms are comfortable and suited for divers. Modern rooms but nothing extravagant. Perfect diving setup with shore diving island wide and a great and easy dive operation and locker setup. Seperate docks for shore and boat. Nice on site restaurant and neighboring ones are good too. Perfect chill environment.

This is my 10th trip to Captain Dons Habitat!!! I LOVE it here!!! It is wonderful to come back to a resort year after year and see the same people each year- and it's wonderful when they remember you too❤️.The check in is always easy- Spenenza and Valerie make it extremely easy! I loved seeing the Capt. Don painting in the lobby by local artist Henk Rosendaal. The dive staff is amazing- Have been helped by these incredible people for years- Wilco is always amazing, Whitley, Lars, Sherman, Ludson, Karin and Carlos- and I am missing some- Claire and Roger were at the DEMA convention- didn't see them this time. There are more dive folks! The shore diving cannot be any easier here- tanks are left out 24/7- including nitrox- you can do a shore dive any time you want- unlimited- easy lockers where you can store your gear- multiple rinse tanks- and a newly built pier that you can walk to from the locker area- and jump into the ocean and swim to the reef from the shore in about 3 minutes or less. the house reef is great- sometimes you see so much more here than other dive sites on the island. The breakfast buffet is worth it- coffee is excellent- made to order omelets, fruit , pancakes and potatoes- the wait staff is great, Jackson, Jason and Shamy just to name a few people. Dinners are so great that the restaurant will have many people making reservations that are not staying here. The sunsets are truly incredible and of course the view of Klein Bonaire is right in front. I love waking up in the morning to the birds here- the parrots were right by my front door yesterday- and there are many more here!! Conclusion- I love it here!!!!!

I have been to Habitat multiple times, and always had a great time , this trip was no different. Even better. The Dive staff are excellent, I had the pleasure of diving with Sherman and Carlos . They were so helpful to me for my two week stay . Friendly and pleasant and knowledgeable, I was in safe hands , which means a lot since I’m am a single women diver coming up 70 years old , I really appreciated the two of them watching out for me. Brandon and the other people at the front desk were so accommodating ( I never got the name of the woman with the blue hair, she was very nice) Rumrunners Restaurant also had excellent staff and servers and chefs . I thought the food variety was really good and my favorite was the Barracuda special , it was delicious. The quality was so fresh and preparation was adapted to my order. Burgers better than in the states , and fabulous salads . The weekly BBQ is a favorite , with grilled ribs, chicken , fish and sides., and desert The absolute best potato and macaroni salads and a creamy sweet Cole slaw . Again , the staff made a top notch dining experience , they were very attentive and friendly. I should have got more names . I do remember Quincy , yet they were all super . Housekeepers were friendly and prompt and did a nice job keeping my room clean and tidy. I would highly recommend a stay at Captain Don’s Habitat

We stayed in the Ocean View room which came with two comfortably large beds. We both could have done without the wooden frames in which the mattress sat as they got in the way of exiting the bed if the mattress wasn't set right in the frame. We would both have appreciated luggage racks on which to set our luggage so that it needn't be on the floor. The shelves in the closet didn't satisfy our need for space so some items remained in the cases. And being off the floor would have made it easier for the room service to sweep more adequately. The bathroom was roomy enough but there was always a need for a bit more space for essentials and the vanity top was rather small. We liked the shower and shower head though the shampoo dispenser cover kept falling off. Plenty of towels upon the asking. Our porch was wonderful and spacious. I would have liked a broom in the room to sweep up the sand that inevitably got on the floor. Diving was convenient by boat or "shore dive" using the Baby Dock. The dive shop was helpful when I heeded a repair and rental equipment was very good. These are all relatively minor things but nevertheless things worth noting to secure the comfort of the visitor. . Food at the restaurant was quite good, with a good variety for breakfast, lunch and dinner, though we looked to try other restaurants for pricing and further variety. It's my third time staying at the Habitat and I'd return if I get the chance.
